URGENT HELP REQUIRED – DONATIONS NEEDED! PLEASE SHARE THIS POST LIKE CRAZY

We need your urgent help. Our Flying Fox Bats are struggling to survive in the wild at present, due to a starvation event occurring across South East Queensland.

It’s as serious as it gets and we need your help. We have been unprecedentedly busy these past two weeks, with record numbers of calls, rescues and flying foxes in need of foster, not only across our range of the Gold Coast, but across South East Queensland and North Eastern New South Wales.

Tragically, these bats are starving to death and falling dead out of the trees. Whilst there are still the usual rescues coming through, such as bats hit by cars, attacked by dogs, fruit netting or barbed wire, almost 80% of our rescue calls are for bats low to or on the ground that are starving to death. It is absolutely heartbreaking. Due to deforestation and developments, there are not enough food sources to sustain the wild bats. These calls have come thick and fast and we just cannot keep up.

It’s a pretty simple…$35 feeds a bat for one week.

Unfortunately our volunteers are stretched and our funds are fast depleting. We need urgent funds to buy more food for the bats that are coming into our care and of course for aftercare as so many of them are malnourished and need urgent help. Just $5 from each and every one of you would mean the world to our organisation and importantly our bats.
